Safety Evidence Synthesis Manager

Typical Accountabilities: • Evaluates and analyzes information and generates high quality health economics and/or outcomes research for input to the target product profile, target product claims, value demonstration plan and market access & pricing strategy • Develops contributions to research planning process, supporting value demonstration activities and health economic and outcomes research evidence • Prepares proposal requests for HE & OR work projects, assists in the management and selection process. • Manages research for patient reported outcome instrument development and/or administration and or model development • Responsible for project management in collaboration with academic researchers & clinical research organizations • Participates in preparation for investigator meetings including work materials & presentations. • Assists in writing presentations, references, and development of global reimbursement/formulary documents • Prepares HE & OR data as background materials for registration pack for discussion with regulatory authorities • Support Marketing Companies with advice to help them implement local HE & OR activities • Develops expertise in Health Economics & Outcomes Research through publications and presentations of scientific research and identifies external HE & OR data sources and literature references • Prepares global core value documents, communication materials, publications for use with decision makers and purchasers. • Reviews independent investigator proposals to incorporate relevant health economic and/or outcomes research components consistent with local clinical development and Phase IV requirements. • Has personal responsibility for creating a culture of courageous leadership, creativity and collaboration Typical People Management Responsibility (direct / indirect reports): • Approximate number of people managed in total (all levels) - What is the global remit? (how many countries will the role operate in?): • 2 or 3 countries at a minimum of 40% of time Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience: • Essential: Bachelors degree in clinical, biological, or social sciences • Desirable: Developing knowledge of HE & OR and its application to pharmaceutical development at an international level.; Developing understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory requirements from a global perspective and product development processes at all life cycle stages.; Developing knowledge of international healthcare systems and their changing needs for health economic and patient-reported outcomes information. Develop knowledge of legal and regulatory environment influencing clinical development plans, labeling and promotional claims.; Provide innovative scientific knowledge Value Demonstration Work streams; Able to implement projects including key stakeholders under supervision; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Developing understanding of concepts and importance of Value Demonstration Plan to commercial stakeholders.; Ability to collaborate with others at senior skill level in order gain commitment to strategy and projects; Proven teamwork and collaboration skills; Developing cultural sensitivity; Effectively represents the company externally to key stakeholders. Key Relationship to reach solutions: • Internal (to AZ or team): Value Demonstration Leader; Senior Health Economics & Outcomes Research Scientist; Health Economics & Outcomes Research Scientist; Pricing and Market Access; Value Demonstration Work Stream; Project Management; Medical Science Director; Clinical Project Team and/or Clinical Study Team; Regulatory TA Team; Global Sales and Marketing Organization; Market access functions in Marketing Companies; External Scientific Affairs & Medical Resources; (US role deployed to Development Brand Leader DBL) • External (to AZ): Government reimbursement and pricing authorities; CROs and Academic Researchers; FDA, Health and Human Services (Centre for Medicare Services), Agency for HealthCare Quality and Evidence Based Practice Centres, EMEA, NICE, Payers; For US Based roles, HE & OR Associate Research Scientists may describe their role externally as Manager, HE & OR.

Annual base salary for this position ranges from 109,148.80 to 143,257.80.

The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. The base pay offered will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business and organizational needs.  In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances.

In addition, our permanent positions offer an annual Variable Pay Bonus/Short Term Incentive opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (if applicable to role).  Benefits offered for permanent roles include a competitive Flex Benefits & Retirement Savings Program, 4 weeks’ paid vacation, and annual Personal Days. Fixed Term Contract/Temporary positions (excluding students) are offered a Contract Benefits Program.
